How many chips per player?

Between 25 and 50 per stack. Below about 20, players break a big chip every hand to post a blind. Above about 60, the stacks stop being readable across the table.

Count beats face value. Ten 1,000 chips is an unplayable 10,000 stack at 25/50 blinds. The same 10,000 as 20 twenty-fives, 10 hundreds, 5 five-hundreds and 6 thousands plays like a tournament stack.

What the calculator does

It fills from the bottom: enough small chips for the early levels, a working count of the middles, and the remainder in your largest chip to colour up into. A 10,000 stack from 25s, 100s, 500s and 1,000s comes back as 20, 10, 5 and 6 of each.

Every row has a stepper, and the footer says whether you are on target. When it looks right, one tap saves it as your chip set, where you set each chip's colour. The legend then rides along on the clock, and on the TV board with Felt Pro.
